Default Test Session at T4BB -- Video

Got together with some of the guys at Toys 4 Big Boys in San Antonio today to test out a new piece of video equipment. And use some of my other stuff in a new way. With the new piece I essentially have a shoulder held camera. Nicely balanced and fully adjustable to put the viewfinder right in front of my eye. The best way to follow racing by far. The other new wrinkle is using the magic arm and super clamp to mount a camera over the frontstretch fairly low to the track by clamping onto the outer pitwall. Now that I'm not using these pieces on the monopod I have them available for other uses. In fact it worked so well today I'm going to get another pair for the other camera. So many ways you can use this combination. This is a short one I put together just to check out the footage. I have enough for maybe two more this length. Going back on Saturday to film the weekly racing. This one is a little different format. 640x480 at a slightly lower bitrate. Didn't buffer on me once with a 384k connection. I'll put up the full sized one tomorrow its encoding and I am pooped.

that was a great trick at 1:04. the monster truck tried it at 2:27 but failed.

great video as always dude. that track looks like a lot of fun and I love how it's right there by a main road. I live in the country and our track is in the backwoods compared to the one in the vid.

Default Yea I love stuff like that

Dynamic timewarp is so much fun when you see stuff like that you can have it pretty much any way you want after you practice a bit and get used to the controls. That track is my favorite to go too. They have a lot of fun races there. The Halloween Retch Race is one of my favorites. The Hoto Borroto race is another one thats a blast. I hear they are going to run that this summer since they are off the Texas R/C Pro Series calendar this year. They had a race and the finals this year so they sit out next year. Another track I'm really wanting to go film is called the River Track and its south of Houston. HUGE air at this place. A challenging track. In the Hoto you have to TQ and win the race to take home the trophy and money. Roughly translates to 'The Bad A$$' so having to win both is a cool idea I think. The trophy last time was a big fake dookie chain with a dollar sign on it. Series races and all that are fun but local races can be just as exciting if you come up with something unique.
