Default Psycho Nitro Blast (Indoor ‘round-the-clock race) Atlanta, GA Feb 1-3 ‘08

Get some sleep now, because you are going to need it for the Psycho Nitro Blast. Imagine a large indoor arena hosting a Nitro Off-Road race which will start on Friday with 24 uninterrupted hours of practice followed by 4 rounds of 10 minute qualifiers on Saturday which will run also run through the night. Then early on Sunday the race will proceed directly into the longer-than-usual mains. One hour mains for Buggy and Truggy, and 45 minutes each for Sportsman Buggy and Monster Truck. All other mains will be at least 10 minutes. Lots of door prizes. Lots of other surprises. The goal is to make this a race that you will look forward to year after year. Please get more details at the event website Psychonitroblast.com

I will go ahead and pass along the info I got through an e-mail from Dave Leikam for all of you guys.. i'm sure you'll like to hear it.

"hey D.C

the track will have a straight that is 200ft to 240ft long (oh yea!). the width of the track will be 140ft. i promise you will not be dissapointed.
Oh yea, the track is going to have a "special feature" that we are keeping secret until the race weekend.

gee if that isn't enough to make you wunna come i'm not sure what would...lol

I think this race is going to be dope as hell. Everybody should sign up. Right now there's 8 people registered...I don't think that's enough for 24 hours of racing

Hey guys, I encourage any of you that are planning on attending this
race and planning to pit in either a hotel room or in a trailer or
actually anywhere other than inside the arena to purchase some FRS
(Family Radio Service) two way radios. They come in packs of two and
are available at many places, like Walmart, for 20 bucks. All of the
race announcing that will be heard over the loudspeakers of the PA
system will be simultaneously broadcast over a predesignated channel
of one of these radios. This will keep you constantly informed of any
important announcements, but most importantly will keep you up on what
is happening on the track...... who is turning fast laps, who just
broke out of the heat, how your racing buddies are doing in their
heats or mains, and any intense battles happening on the track.

Another helpful hint is that you can simply plug a set of computer
speakers to into the radio and you will have plenty of volume to hear
over your generator or your noisy pit partner.

Side note: We will be using a high-powered transmitter (5 watts in
this case) that the manufacturer claims will transmit up to 26 miles.
The hotels listed on our website are much closer than 26 miles. The
issue is that we are not in line-of-sight with the hotels and we are
transmitting from inside a huge metal building, so you may or may not
get the signal in a hotel room. We will do a test later to find out
if it will work (fingers crossed.)

Petevette, of course there will be pros. It would be in poor taste to announce any names before they actually appear in the registered/paid list on rcraceregistration.com, so I will not do so. Rest assured that some A-List drivers will be there.

Neither I nor David Leikam are going to be there due to working a significant checklist for the PNB race. Eddie Gunn may make the race, but not sure. He knows alot about the details.

You may call me at any time to discuss details though. 404-323-5626

The dirt has never had a track built on it before. The dirt is a Georgia Red CLay mix. It does appear to pack well. Do not know anything more than that. We will treat the track on the days leading up to the event in a way that normally yields bluegroove....but the chips may just land where they want to.
