The track has not been built. Even if we had new pictures, they would still be of the same areana in the same shape.

The track will be built on the Monday through Thursday the week before the race. We will post videos and pictures during and throughout the process.

...But do not waste your time waiting to see if the track is going to be the shizz or not. Register now, because it will be. If you wait for the videos you may likely be in the final registration rush and miss the boat all together. When people see a live lap of the track, which will include a bigger-than-should-be-allowed jump and another feature which I cannot talk about yet, there will be a crazy last minute run on registrations. Trust me, it will be a fun track.

Okay Psycho Brethren, we have been pretty secretive about the track
and its features up until now. We will crack the door of secrets a
little bit over the next couple of weeks just to get you super jacked
about the race, so check in every now and then to see what else might
be out.

Today's little nugget: The largest jump on the track is something
special. Instead of the regular face, it will be perfectly radiused.
This means that your car scrubs off very little speed when contacting
the ramp. With this ramp, not much speed is needed to jump over 15
feet in the air and over 45 feet of distance. With a real head of
steam we have jumped 60 feet in distance. I have no clue how high the
car actually goes, but it is WAY up there. You will likely jump
higher and farther than you have ever jumped before. The take-off
angle is significantly more than 45 degrees, so the "loft" is very
high. All major jumps will be 16 feet wide.

A couple notes:

1.) Please check back on this coming Monday when we let out one of
the big secrets about the track. Gonna be sick!

2.) Jon Martin, the owner of Carolina's RC and the owner of
RCRaceRegistration.com has previously advised me that the vast
majority of people wait until the last two weeks before any particular
race to register. Being that the registration total is over 175 at
this point, please be careful and do not wait until the last second
and miss out. Remember that the limit is 400 entries.

Bobby and I have basically finalized the track layout...OHMIGAWD!!!

I told you late last week that we would let out a little secret about the track. Dave and I thought for a while about whether we should even release this little nugget of information considering how most racers have never actually raced on an obstacle of this type and that we would open the flood gates and be bombarded with questions that could not be answered without actually driving the feature. First let me say that driving the feature is easy and pretty fun also. It looks imposing and, much like a large jump, it is pretty satisfying when you pull it off just right. So that being said, here we go:

“The Wall” is a 24 foot wide and 16+ foot tall vertical wall. The Wall is made of an approximately 4 foot high quarter-pipe which transitions into about 12 feet of vertical wall. The entire structure is made of wood. The object is to drive up the wall about 6 feet or so, go around a corner (yes, vertically) and come back down to continue racing on the rest of the track. One lane is up (12 feet wide) and one lane is down (also 12 feet) for a total of 24 feet wide. The apex will be between 5 and 8 feet in the air. Apex height will be determined based upon how it fits in with the “flow” of the track. We will decide during test laps.

Unless you have driven on one before, I know what you are thinking: “How can you turn with no traction in the air?” or “ That does not sound possible” or “What keeps me from flying off of the ramp and lawn-darting into the ground?” You will “get it” as soon as you see a car or truck go over it for the first time. Believe me, it is not only possible, but just as predictable as turning on the ground….just more awesome to see and drive.

We would like to thank Carolinas RC and Jon Martin for sponsoring this track feature. We think it is something special and hope that you will too.

Sounds awesome. I think I've seen one of these before in an RC vid, but nothing the size of what you mentioned

I know that walls like this work. We do it all the time with RCP track racing minis. When the car transitions from flat ground to the wall, the suspension compresses, just like you are going off of a jump, but instead of a jump, it goes up a wall. The compressed suspension keeps weight on the tires, and allows it to turn and come back down.

If you don't believe it, just go watch!

This video has something like we have made. Ours is a bit bigger and you have to go vertical for a longer period of time....
