Servo advice for an RC8
Hey everybody, new to RCTECH boards and just wanted to ask a question. Ive read some threads about servos but could someone give me some more advice on two sevos to buy for my RC8. Ive read about the ACE and Futaba, what numbers should I purchase and which one goes to throttle and which to steering. Look forward to friendly advice.

By far the most popular and durable in my area is the HiTec 5955TG & the 5995TG . I've been running the 5995TG very hard in my buggy for a year now with ZERO Issues....
They have Ultra strong Titanium gears, 333.29oz, 0.12 Sec & Ditgital. Shop around and you can pick them up for $89.99 each. http://66.221.209.115/html/hsr-5995tg_ultra_torque.html |
im a Hi Tech guy...i would go with the 5996TG T/B and the 5997TG steering...

The JR Racing 9000 series servos are good and have a 3 year warranty.

Ace 1313 for both throttle/brake and steering. The 1015 is good and that's what I've got on my truggy for steering but, it's a tad too fast for steering on a buggy. My 2 cents....

The Ace 1015 for throttle/brake and steering. 200 oz of torque. .10 transit
or Futaba 9351 for steering and a 9451 for throttle/brake |
Ok. These ar great and I have and still use these.
Futaba S9350 throttle. Futaba S9351 steering. I run these to and like them the best. JR Z9000S Throttle. JR Z9100T steering. Heres a link with specs. Steering http://www.jrradios.com/Search/Defau...rchTerm=Z9100t Throttle http://www.jrradios.com/Products/Def...dID=JRPSZ9000S |
I'm using the Futaba BL451's for both throttle and steering. More than enough for both of those duties.

+1 BL451 Great servos. +1 for the JR 9000 and 9100 series servos. |
I have used alot of different servo's that are out there. I haven't had good luck with any HiTec servo's in close to three years. I have always had good luck with the JR servo's. Most recently, in my Jammin buggy, I had a 9000T for my steering. In the same buggy I had an Ace 1015. They both had come out of my X-Ray. They were both over a season old at that point.
I haven't used Airtronics servo's but they might be next. I am very happy in my decision to go with Futaba so far. I have used JR, Hitec, Futaba, Ace, and KO. The only ones I didn't like were the Hitecs. I could never get them to last any amount of time. Some I never even set on the track and they were gone and others would last me as long as a gallon. Don't me wrong by saying they're bad. I know alot of people that have had great luck with them. Just not me. |
We just got in the new XP servos. I have switched my RC8 over to the XPDS1313 for both throttle and steering from Airtronics 360s. So far I've been impressed with the response and reliablitly. More information can be found here: http://www.rc10.com/shusting/Catalog...ervo.htm#29166
