I use the short ones also. No need for the real long ones.

The usuall run time I get from a glow plug ignitor is over three years. I've blown the Dynomite ignitors (sub C cell) ones in a year. For some reason the Hotshots just keeps on going.
As for the tips holding on to a glow plug, I find that turbo plugs don't like to be held by ignitors. I just don't like locking a ignitor to a plug anyway.

my dynamite only lasted 3 months before the tips started to bend out. I hardly have any wear on my hot shot 2 with over 6 months on it.

Default glo ignitor

I use an aluminum 1 that xtm makes it has a meter and a twist lock end on it. I dont like the grabber style end. I have used 1 all year and is still going strong. The battery is a sub-c 2400 MAH I charge it about 1 time every 2 weeks and is allways good to go. They are BLUE and they make a RED 1 that has FLIGHT LEADER brand name on it.

Any one with a meeter that in not a twist lock is the best. The twist locks wear out over time and a meeter is always a great idea so you can see the condition of your glowplug. I use this one: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...attery-Charger but threw in a 3300mah sub C cell I had laying around. I charge it sometimes if I think about it, however it never dies or takes long to charge.

Here is IMO the best glow ignitor on the planet...... runs off 12V or even a fully charged Lipo 4S pack....I have used almost every ignitor made, and I feel this unit offers me the most reliable performance...it allows me to tune the voltage for the different plugs I run, and no matter what my ignitor is never without power

Thanks Maximo, ive been evaluating glow ignitors this week (got let down by 2 last race meet ) and i agree with you .And most powered ones come with 110v chargers ,no good in Australia (240v power).could not find a Hot Shot 240v.

there's a few 12v remote type around ,But good reviews for the Ofna .I have an Ofna style bump box with 12v m-cycle batt ,and a 12v car batt in my pit trailer,to run the comp heat head warmer ,and the charger .Whats the best way to hook this together ?----is the Ofna power board thing the way to go ? I see youre a comp heat owner,do you have any advice about a regulator for the head warmer ,ie ,can it be run through the ofna regulated glow device ?
has anyone done similar ?

cheers jonando
