My engine recommends 20-25% nitro. I have a gallon of 10% plane fuel that I don't want to go to waste.

Would it be a big problem if I used this in my truck?
Less nitro would be less power, I know. There's also more oil in this fuel.

I'd like to use it up if I could. Could I?

Well... tuning is going to be different... probably need a different glow plug, maybe a thinner head shim... more oil will make the motor run hotter, and you aren't going to get NEAR the power. It's $20-26 for a gallon of fuel... sell it to some airplane guy and buy the right fuel, even if you have to let him have it for half price.

I was always told NO on using airplane and copter fuel. I wouldn't try it either.

The engine won't run hotter because of the extra oil but it won't have good throttle response (the reason for using minimal oil in racing fuels). You would spend half of it finding a decent tune only to have to go back to regular car fuel. Buy some 25% or 30%, you'll be a happy camper.

Get a gallon of %30 and mix the two. Adjust tune accordingly.

I thought I should post an update.

I've started using this fuel (Omega 10%) and it works great.
There's a very minimal power difference over the 20% and I just needed to lean it out a bit.

aero fuel has 25% oil so no problems with engine wear.

not all aero fuel is 25%, most of the local fly boys mix there own fuel with as low as 15% oil

I use Omega fuel & I have had no issues with it. It comes in low to high nitro contents (5, 10, 15, & 25) and has 17% oil content, (castor/synthetic=30/70%). Its worked out the best for new engines on break-in and for first tuning on the track for beginners and intermediate since it has a good smoke plume. Once the engine is completely broken-in, I transitioned to Maxy's 20% and TQ 30%, with really no tuning changes to do, just small adjustments if any as needed depending on temperature and humidity.
