need help deciding on a engine
ive been trying to decide on an engine for my rc8. and i will probably use it in my 8ight-t to. i want one that is good on fuel milage i dont really care about that much power seeing as how im actually faster with a slower engine or very rich running engine. i really have been shooting for a nova 21plus5 but i am not entirely for sure yet i do know i am going to run a ninja header and pipe but not for sure which model and again im going for runtime. thanks for any help

If price is no concern I would recommend an os v-spec with a 2050 pipe. These motors are very powerful and butter smooth if that makes sense. 
I have never had an engine that would get the runtime of a v-spec so far. I am currently giving the Go technologies 5 port turbo a trial run and am very satisfied so far. I would advise you look through the go tech thread. Good luck.

i have an rc8 with a jp modded rossi 4 port 21-2000bf i use a 17 tooth clutch bell 2 .09 clutch springs and 1 1.0 spring and it flat out hauls the mail and is very user friendly. lots of other racers are stocked when i tell them its just a 4 port. 275.00 is what i paid forit, you dont need to spend 400.00 plus on an engine and run 7 port this and that to have a fast buggy find a mill that fits youre driving style learn to tune it and clutch it properly and you will be amazed at the performence you can squeeze from any mill.

Currently I have been running a 5 port Go-Tech, long story. At first I was skeptical because of price and all I heard was carb problems. Since then the carb has been resolved and mine runs fine and does get good mileage.
Do I think it's the greatest thing since DSM, who knows. I personally have never seen a Vspec that was a lightswitch. I have driven a couple other people cars and really liked the way they felt, and even borrowed one for a weekend and to my tune I thought it was great, but the price tag compared to the Go Tech is what made my decision, it was $$ not performance.
A local racer and good friend of mine is a Go Tech driver, and if it hadn't been for me personally pitting him and seeing it run good first hand, I may have never got one.
For a second opinion, I also own an RB S5 which I think is a good motor for the $229 you pay compared to the big $$ motors. I just cant bring myself to shell out that kinda cash when 90% of it is your setup, clutches, tires and driver. The motor doesn't win the race in most cases, just makes it easier.

My choice for low cost with great power is a Axe Rossi Mamba. They are $199 on amain. Run it with a Thunder Tiger 2035 pipe/header. This has great bottom end with excellent top for under $250. If you like more mid to top, then add the 2039 pipe with same header. The Axe Rossi 2050 is little more and will give you all around performance.

I'm running a Werks B7 Pro with a 5.5 restrictor in it. Driving GENTLY, I got 9:15 out of a tank a couple of weeks ago... and it was still insanely fast. It has a really smooth power curve, no "hit" in the middle like a lot of 7-ports.
I have seen some guys have carb issues with this motor. Mine was fine, but several have put other carbs (Novarossi?) on them to solve that.
