I just drilled out my antenna hole very slow one size at a time until i got it to where it holds the antenna snug. It holds very well and i didnt need a screw or glue to hold it in place.

Ok so im thinking of doing this Mod. Need to make radio lighter and want to remove the heavy arial and put a Li Po in it.
Question i have is how do you connect the arial wire back to the Spectrum Modual? Do you drill a small hole through the case? Is there enough wire to route it back from the new location.? I have a Mars R.
I have pulled the modual apart and there is very little wire in it.
Thanks.

On the Mars R you need to drill through a clear spot on the circuit board so the wire will reach . All you need to do is drill out the top right screw hole where the module plugs in and route the wire through there .

Thanks. i put a extension wire on to the arieal. and left a screw out of the back case of the spectrum modual and routed the arieal through that.
I may drill hole in the board later.
It looks so much better with the origanal location. Where do you get plugs for the hole left in the modual??
Why is there 2 arieal sockets for the spectrum and do both work????
Thanks. Mark.

Well i have stuft uped my spectrum, well kind of.
I did this mod to my Mars and all seemed well but had to extend the wire to the spectrum module.
It all works till i get about 10 mtrs away and than loose all range.
Ive checked all connections and are fine. I think it is because i used standard antenna wire and the spectrum runs at 2.4 ghz. My mate thinks its a special wire to handle the 2.4 ghz.
PLEASE HELP anyone.

If you do the mod properly you don`t need to add any wire .

There is no way the wire would reach for the mars.
Have found out it that the tx wire is coax cable.
It will be fixed soon.

Yes it will . If you route the wire the shortest distance it will reach .
