Smile V-Spec Bearings

Hey, I have a V-spec and I was wondering when should I replace the engine bearings? I was looking at TKO bearings is there anything better to use?
Thanks.

I'd say at the first sign of wear eg. excessive float or feel gritty. Or just precausionary after 20 litres (5 gallons)

I had 4 gallons through mine and the main bearing went and made the piston rub. So I changed the main bearing right from the beginning, I will not go over a gallon with the stock bearing. When you take it apart the stock bearing looks cheap. I believe my v-spec is a 2006 because on another thread someone said that the 2006 v-spec has a silver backplate and the 2007 has a black backplate. I'm not sure, if you have the 2006 v-spec watch out for the bearing issue.

I always use and suggest the TKO ceramics in my modified Vspec's, or stock Vspec's.

my main bearing went so i replaced both bearing (poss overkill) with TKO ceramics and a new rod, still going strong and it seems to really make the engine fly, as if they werent fast enough stock
