as i havent had either of the motors the only way you can check if it fits in the carb and if the inside diameter is smaller it should give you more runtime

Well if you want to hear the truth, you need to get rid of the .28 and get a .21.
A good first motor is a sportworks and a 53 pipe. The combo of a .28 and a high end pipe in a buggy = gas hog, you need to find a 5.5 or 6 restricter and limit your throttle.

Don't give up....

Just run your EPA down. That motor gets good mileage for us. It is not set up to take inserts with the stock carb. You can get the Dynamite carb for it that will let you go from a 9mm down to 6mm if you have to have inserts. EPA is the same thing.
We get 11 - 12 mins on 150cc in the truggy with the 427.
Hope this helps.

EPA?

EPA=End Point Adjustment

Depending on your radio, you can control how far the servo will move. By reducing your EPA, the throttle will not go open as far.

We run a Mach .28 (pretty much same motor) in my sons Losi truggy, we get up to 8-9 minutes but not all the time. I made a delrin 7 mm insert for the standard carb. It wont get you from 5 minutes to 7 but it would help some. You must be running it too rich to be getting that bad of mileage. We run our Mach .28 250 degrees to the plug give or take.

I'll make you an insert for $10.00

e-mail me at [email protected]
