Ok I made this thread because I was wondering. Why some people use Spokes vs Discs and vice versa. I could be wrong but I can see the Disc maybe being a little stiffer than the Spokes. Then the spokes being lighter than their disc counterpart? These are just guesses so I was wondering if anyone has some real answers. Like what they do for performance.

If you have a monster truck or buggy that has pivot ball type of hubs spokes let you make adjustments without removing the wheel. If you buy the dish you either have to drill a hole or remove the wheel. Oh yeah, the look of spokes is better...

I was tired of the dish rims also. So I bought the Xray rims for my 8ight. Several weeks later realized the Losi rims handle better on the Losi buggy cause the Losi rims are larger diameter. I wish Losi had spoke rims. Or Proline to make some LPR buggy tires with large diameter wabash wheels.

Spoked rims let the dirt out ,dished rims catch it and hold it ! If you run in a wet condition you may notice the car gets real assy halfway through a qualy this is from the extra weight of the dirt, here in NewEngland it can be a real issue,specially when it's real damp out at night (ETMR races Saturday nights)
and the fluff will get packed in dished wheels .

I've found just the opposite to be true. Dirt packs in between the spokes from the outside. I like the way they look but I won't run them.

dishes for me. I used to think that spokes were lighter and that would pose as an advantage but when I finally got to compare the two, there wasn't really any noticeable difference in weight.

I'll second that... but here's my thing: Disk wheels are more visible, ESPECIALLY as you run and they get dirty... the spokes collect dirt and the visibility goes away. Now, I keep a set of spokes around to adjust my pivot balls... but otherwise, disk wheels all the way. I think the spokes might survive better if they crack during a race (and I've broken wheels before) because the crack is gonna stop with just one spoke. (They don't call me "Captain Crash" for nothing!)

I normally run dish wheels because I really not much of a fan of the spoked ones. The one thing I like about spoke wheels is that I can tell when my wheels lock up when on the brakes.

Dish for me I like the look i've had spokes and got rid of them just did'nt like the look and Dom I'm "Captian cart wheel"

I prefer the look of spoked wheels but I have seen far more spoked wheels crack than dish. Maybe it's just me, but that is one reason I don't run spokes.

Spoke rims let your brakes cool + its easier to adjust pivot balls on a mugen.

the thing i have expiriences with Dish rims is that they bend more than spoked rims(just me). there must be some reason the pros run with dish.
