I had the same issue as you until I replaced my crappy losi clutch with the werks clutch. My buddy has both the 8 and 8T and he's happy with the losi clutch on the buggy, but the combo of heavier truck with heavier springs kills the clutch shoes and smokes the bearings quickly. BTW I needed to fashion a crankshaft extender to use the stock clutch bell with the standard engine mounts. IF you'd like to use a standard OFNA/mugen type of bell you'll need to move the engine forward a few mm, which is only possible with the King Headz engine mount.

carolinasrc.com get the contact number and talk with greg he sell m2c clutch system where u can use the standard clutch bell. that clutch is actually a tad bit better then the losi and the bearings will last a little better. The main reason for losi tearing the bearings up is the chassis flexi's a little to much wish is one reason y the car and truck turn so well... good luck

fioroni turbo clutch (mugen/losi version flywheel). shoes last forever, i mean really forever, and bearings also. use it with the original losi bell and it fit perfect. just replace the losi collet with a standrad one.

I've had the exact opposite with my losi clutch! I replaced my bearings after 4 gallons of gas. Way better than the standard clutch bearings from past vehicles.

I just buy em, clean em and pop em in, no reoiling at all!

I can't be happier with my Losi clutch's, I replace bearings about as often as with other 3 shoe clutches. But the shoes last 10 times longer than 3 shoe aluminum clutches. I would rather buy $1 bearings than $20-$25 shoes.
By the way use A-main 10 pack bulk bearings ($10 for 10) they are way better than the Losi bearings and way cheaper.

For any other clutches to work on the Lousi you need to shim out the flywheel 2.5 mm and use that Ofna clutch shim kit with the little black shaft extender that comes with it , but you need to pay close attention to the bolt you use to hold it on , if the head is not a buttonhead it's too long, you will ruin your fuel tank ! Also you may need to shorten the extender a touch so you use minimal shims.
I use a Kyosho clutch in my Lousi (which will soon turn into a RC8) and have no troubles what so ever !

I wanted to keep the stock engine location so I just shimmed the flywheel forward, but if yo uwant to mess with the weight distrabution go for it ...
