I did use the search function to try to have this question answered but had no luck. What is the advantages and disadvantages of aftermarket aluminum rocker arms?

Do you mean A arms? Rocker arms are used on 4 stock motors. If you mean A arms, after market ones are stronger. But if they wont brake, what will? Some times it's better to let the cheaper parts brake.

He might mean rocker arms for the Revo. That question should be asked in the MT thread. But since I used to race a Revo I will tell you that they are not at all necessary. They just add weight and are more likely to bend than the stock plastic.
