Clutch Bearing Life.
I was just wondering how often you all change your clutch bearings. This season I have been running the cheap bearings from Carolina RC. I replace my clutch bearing every week. They still feel pretty good but I don't want to take a chance of one going out during a race. Plus they are cheap. I was thinking about using a better grade bearing and was wondering if it was worth it. Give me some input.

Advantage Racing Bearings are the best. With any other brand you will be replacing them every day. Keep using them.

Are you using Advantage Ceramic bearings. I'm using their standard bearings.

YAH WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT.....DO NOT GET ANY KIND OF LIQUID ON THEM.FUEL,WATER,ENGINE SPRAY.......ANYHTING!!!! AND AVID BEARINGS ARE THE BEST.$1.OO DOLLAR,1 DOLLAR YOU CANT BEAT THAT FOR A BEARING AND THEY WORK GREAT,JUST DONT SPILL ANYTHING ON THEM.

The first set I had in my car went for 2 gallons. I bought it used, so I don't know what brand they were. Since then, I've tried a couple different brands, and they've only gone for 1-1.5 quarts before blowing, so I have to change often. I'd really like to find better ones to cut down on that.
On a side note, I've been getting the rubber/metal sealed ones, but I swear that first set were metal on both sides. I'm just going to keep trying different brands until I find some that hold up longer.

I use standard bearings in the clutch bell. Metal/rubber seal.

kyosho bearings are probably what were in the 2 gallon run on clutch bearings !! they are the best quality bearings out on the market , just cost $$$$ . personally , i run kyosho cars but use avid bearings in the cluch and hubs , just not on the diffs of the st-r , too much sideplay in the bearings . if you really want long lasting bearings , heat up the bearing on the metal shield side with your heat gun and drop a few drops of a synthetic gear oil in them . i am very experienced and not just a dumbass and found clutch bell bearings being smoother for much longer after starting this method about 2 years ago . also be sure to throw those super worn out clutch bells away

I second the Advantage Bearings. We have been running the ceramics in both the 8ight and 8ight T and they are awsome. We run the standard bearings in the clutch just for the fact I would probably still change the ceramics just as often just to be safe.
We will be running the ceramics in the clutch at the Worlds Warm-up tho.

I 100% agree on the Kyosho bearings. I was in the local hobby shop and they were out of the $1 bearings. The only thing they had was a package of Kyosho bearings at $13 for 4. If I didn't buy them I wasn't racing that night. They lasted forever. While I liked how long they lasted that is still to much for 4 bearings.
