The Hyper ST offers the most bang for your buck. It is highly competitive as well. Heck it was winning big races with just the RTR version (It was the only version available to racers for a while).
Im still stuck on the Matrix and the Hyper ST, and the Jammin X1 (yah i know the matrix wasnt part of my list.) from what i read so far.
the Hyper St has a crappy engine that heats up so much you can roast a chicken on it , but our LHS has like 90% support for parts
The matrix has just all praises, with only 20 - 30% support for parts from another LHS
The jammin on the other hand... i dodnt see much RTR reviews on it just the pro ver that everyone uses. so ummm undecided....
i still have october anyways till i have enough to buy one. so im still doing my research.

thanks guys!

I will toss my vote in, because I just sold my Revo to buy a truggy. My vote (even though it isn't on your list) is Mugen MBX5T. I hear good things about the jammin and the ofna. Heard the Cen Matrix and Xray are really good too. Losi seems to be a bit fragile, at least compared to the others, and I have yet to hear anything good about the Hellfire. Then again, people talk about the Revo and traxxas in general being crap, and I have nothing but good things to say about the revo.

Don't get me wrong, the Jammin' is an excellent truggy.

For the money, the Hyper ST is the most competitive. Parts are all over Ebay for the Hypers, and they are dirt cheap.

Don't worry so much about the motor. You'll be replacing that anyhow.

IMHO...if u get the matrix truggy definitely get the factory team edition. You probably can find a decent roller on here. If you get the RTR just expect to replace the radio and servos. The servos on mine absolutely blew. Otherwise, |I think it is a great rig. It comes with an SH engine and new cross pin diffs now too, which is cool.

Just wanted to know why the Losi seems fragile? Sorry to get off topic.

I have a great time with the 8-T. The only thing that seems to keep other (local) T's from finishing is batteries or engine tuning troubles. But that's no fault on the truck. Like I said, just wondering what makes them SEEM fragile? Thanx.

I don't have one but I have seen the Thunder Tiger ST-1 run and it is quite the machine. The RTR engine is usable and parts are relatively inexpensive. It's available online for around the $345 dollar mark after coupons.

I have a Hellfire SS and a Lightning stadium pro r. Both trucks are fine. Just because HPI doesn't spend lots of cash on truggy drivers doesn't men they have bad trucks. At my local track I usually take first place with either truck. The only thing I've replaced on my HF is the diffcups. I went with savage x aluminum cups. They weren't bad I just wanted to upgrade them. I did break an arm but that was after hitting a tree full speed. I've raced against 8t's, revo, aftershock, jammins, cen, kyosho and Mugen. They all seemed like nice trucks with the exception of the Cen. Get what you want and don't worry about what others think.

Cool

Sounds like you should have stayed with the Revo less confusing.
