Default Losi 8 center diff ?

I bought a center diff off of ebay, and it is an rtr diff. My question is, when I took it apart... there where shims behind the cross gears???? my pro kit did not have them? is this something new? I find it hard to belive there would be a difference between pro and rtr center diff....

thanks

Don't worry about the shims. I believe they are a running change to the diffs. My pro kit didn't have them either. Throw the diff in and run it.

Default diff

They are a running change. The shim is there to give a better seal for the o-ring.

Not only that i think. When i raced the Xraychallenge in denmark. It was the cars first race, i had the center diff lock up on me. it seemed like the mesh wasnt right. first i changed the diff gears. and it happend again( yes i broke in the diffs). And i remeberd that i had the same problem on my Hyper 8 diff.
So i used shims. newer any problem after that. there where 4-5 other 8 there and none of them had the problem. i think it was my engine. It was a CMB rs 21. it has incredible torq.
