The more inclined the shock is the smoother more progressive/linear that end of the car will feel.

The more verticle the shock is the snappier/reactive the car will feel.

For example my general setup on my 8ight is Middle on tower and outside on the arms front and rear, smoothes the car out.

Also, like someone said earlier check out the Xray XB8 manual. It will tell you when you make changes to certain things how it will affect the handling.
