Picco P7 Evo 2

The best combination i see working for the Evo and Evo 2 is a Jp-1 pipe and a novarossi C5 plug. In my opinion you don't need the turbo button. yuo just don't need any more power with these motors, unless of course your of pro status and can keep that power under control.

Thanks for info, that is the only pipe I dont have, what do think of the JP3 pipe for that engine?

The 3 would be better than the 2...lets just say that.
The 1 is a proven combination...
The 4 i hear is better than the 1.
The 1 has a little flat spot in the middle of the power band...not too noticable but deffinatly there. I have heard from some guys that the 4 eliminates that flat spot but still holds that linear power band. run time, i do not beleive is affected compared with the 1.

Thanks for the info I will pick up a JP1 and a Jp4, that way I will be covered.

Thanks I saw those on the web site too.

Do have to use a special header with the Picco engines?
#83
You can use Nova headers on the engine just sometimes have to smooth the inside a bit. Sometimes you can remove the manifold seal from the engine grease both well the seal and the header, install the seal in the header and slide the assembly onto the engine. I have had good luck with this working.

I thought medium was ok for this weather, but tried with a SH #3 (closer lo Novarossi C-5= hot) plug I had from last winter....SHA-ZAAAM!! The engine transformed. In just a couple rounds of tunning the idle smoothed out, low and high terrific....and temp just where I wanted it!!

I knew the plug was important, but ...WOW! That was impressive. And then again, I've heard lots of people recomend to always use the hottest plug you can get away with......hmmmm!!!!
I agree with the turbo button being unnecesary...the power would just be too much!!

Brian is right the only pipe/header Ive found that fits the right way is the Trinity Drake pipe. The header is angled correctly and fits the exhaust port the right way. I tried a Jp-3 first and had to bend the manifold and use a different exhaust gasket.
I did order a Dynamite 086 though. I really wanna try it out. But I'm going to have to modify the header to make it work.

yeah this header deal is a good point..does anybody know why they make the exaust port angle down??? and if there is a good reason...then they should make the pipes to fit accordingly.
This is my solution using the JP pipes...Ofna makes the orange header gaskets. they have a big OD on them. i have used them for some time now and havn't had them rip or fail. i just replace them whenever i have the pipe off the motor...which isn't very often. seems to work for me!!

i run a P7 EVo 2 in both a 5T and a 8T.... and never have any issues with headers not fitting... I run alot of different pipes as well..086, 053, JP-2,JP-3, TTR 2035, Mugen FLS 2053........ and every pipe fits without question.. I use the little silicone hose gasket included with the motor and never had any issues whatsoever....... as well pretty much every pipe works good on this mill, my personal favorite is the Mugen 2053 FLS...but the 086 is also deadly on a open track......... pretty much to me this motor doesnt seem overly pipe picky... I am a good tuner though and usualy can find the sweet spot with any pipe motor combo...

Fuel and Glow plug advice
I just bought my Picco P7R Evo2 engine from murnan modification.
I am hoping this engine will be much more powerful and faster than my old Picco P7R-Evo stock engine. I will update the performance once I finish break-in and take here out to a local track.
I am waiting for it to come and have a question about proper fuel and glow plug.
I see that some people are running 30% nitro fuels but I also hear that it will be pushing the limit of engine and piston&sleeve will wear out faster than lower nitro fuel. I have been using 25% nitro fuels and wonder if I can 30% nitro fuel for my new engine.
My questions are...
1. What's the best matching glow plug for normal head Picco P7R Evo2 with 25% nitro fuel?
- McCoy MC-8, Picco Medium, OS A5. These are what I found good so far from forum.
2. Does 30% nitro fuel really result in damaging engine compared to 20% or 25% nitro fuel?
- If they are same, should colder plug be used together?
I hope this thread is helpful for everyone who is running or planning to run Picco P7R Evo2.
Thanks.
