I have read that some like a JP1 on this engine. Can anyone compare this to a 086 pipe? If it is down alittle on power, or gets better mileage.
Just received this moter and will be breaking it in this weekend. Any help would be great. I have both of these pipes but, would like a starting point.
Thanks in advance.

I have been running the p7r motors for the last year and half and love them have had all the other ws7,novarossisi,vspec etc etc etc ran the p7r in my
8ight buggy would get 11 mins all day long. now I am running it in my RC8 and get just shy of 11 mins but I am driving the RC8 which I can drive harder so I expected a little loss in milage. I just picked up a RB MOD p7r and will be running it this weekend ran it around the yard and WOW much more punch then the normal p7r and I think i will be getting over 11 mins now easy.

I've got an extra crankcase for you. Like new. A few other things too: cooling head, turbo/reg button, bearings...PM me if interested.

Would small pieces of fuel tubing between the cooling fins help to keep the heads together? Mine runs plenty cool but I don't want any fins falling off...

I put a piece of fuel tube all around the top of the cooling head, to prevent scratches in the (frequent) event of my car flipping over.

Still, I can't understand all this thing with fins in the middle of the cooling head braking off. The only reasons I can think of to justify that is they simply break by themselves due to vibration or by direct impact.

I don't think there's any method that can prevent direct impacts. In the case of vibration, a small piece of tube jammed vertically between fins and secured with zip ties might reduce vibration, but you don't want to over do it as it might prevent air from going between the fins and your motor will over heat.
