is the ACE servo better than futaba for truggy.

will it eat up more batt life sine it can withstand 14.8kg of torque and 0.108 speed. at 6V.

i am thinking of using the lipo for my receiver but izit ok to use without the regulator?

what are the consequences?

Non-robot servos reportedly won't last very long with out a regulator when using lipo. I don't know for my self. If I had extra servos i would try it out though. LOL. Seriously I love the Ace 1015. I have them all around in my buggy and truggy. Steering and throttle/brake. They are just good. I havent' tried too many other servos though. I'm sure most are very good also.

ya i am using the lipo without the regulator now. duno if it will make the receiver spoilt...

Go to the OCM Dominating thread......find Zixxer on there and ask him. He's runnin lipos in everything he has and has already been through this. He is also sponsored by Maxamp Batteries, so even if he doesn't know.....he can find out for sure.

Unless you are running robot servos which are rated at 7 volts you will need to run a voltage regulator if you run a lipo rec pack. This is especially true with high torque digital servos like the Ace you asked about. The much higher refresh rate of digitals will cause them too burn up if they are loaded much and the additional voltage will simply kill them quicker in this situation. 6.2 volts is plenty to get the full potential out of any servo rated at 6 volts and the lipo will maintain it's voltage much longer than a nimh pack will so you won't experience any slowdown of your servos in extended mains like you will with a dry cell rec pack.

Dont even turn that reciever switch to on if you plan to use a lipo without a regulator on your reciever! But if youre in the mood for a new smoke, well... its up to you!
