you have to trim the body out more to allow room for the fuel gun

I don't know about being just as fast with a bottle. I've seen some very quick fuel stops with bottle, but none as fast as what I've seen with a good 2 man pit crew and a gun. I haven't put a watch on it yet, but I'd bet the gun can cut an average pit stop by as much as 2/3. I watched an excellent crew fueling richard saxton in a 10th gas truck race a few years ago with a gun and the truck was up, down and moving in less than a 3 count. I think a fuel gun is one of the few really important pieces of r/c race equipment to see mass production in a while.

I do think that the gun just makes everything cleaner and slightly faster.

Looks like there are basically 4 fuel guns out there.

OFNA(182cc) - 17$

PRO-LINE(170cc) - 49$

LOSI(not listed) - 39$

RB(not listed) - 58$

I have seen a couple of other brands but these seem to be the most common. Anyone want to comment on any of these? How is that OFNA gun?

Also I have read that using a fuel gun works best with 2 man pit crews, why is that?

The first production fuel gun I ever saw was made by Maxy's. I think there were a handful of homemades around on road racing before that, but I'm almost positive the first gun available for sale to the public came from Maxy's. A few years later RB came out with what was essentially a carbon copy of the maxy's gun followed closely by a miserable example from GS racing that went away almost as quick as it appeared. One of the local shop owners gave me one of the GS guns when he first got them in and it made a great door stop but that was about it. From what I've seen of the current crop of plastic guns they do a great job. The aluminum guns tended to leak and needed fresh O rings fairly often to prevent this. Between that and the (at the time) high cost, they just never really caught on in a big way like the more affordable plastic guns have.

proline leaks to much for me

rb is nice but can't see the fuel amount because its not clear

losi works perfectly leaks the least and has a bit longer fuel neck and its cheaper

ofna don't waste your time

The great thing about the gun is even if it is the same speed as the bottle when just squeezing the hell out of it. You dont have 125cc in the tank and another 125cc all over in the car I bought one but have never personally used one. but the feeback from the guys that pit me love it. I bought the losi one and have no complaints with it, fairly cheap and works good.

True dat.

When I first started racing 8th buggy a friend would pit me and even though we were only running 5 minute mains at the time, he would always give my car a major blast of fuel when he topped me off after warmup. I'd go home with like a half inch of red dirt and fuel goop mix on the chassis.

I just ordered the Losi gun. Hopefully it lives up to the praise!

I'll let you guys know once I've had a chance to use it at a race.

Talking

I've used the Proline gun and it works well , had a tendency to leak some ! I don't recomend putting it in a holster on your wasteband, you don't want Nitro on your legg or elsewhere! I just picked-up the Losi gun today and plan to use it this weekend at Mills Pond here in South Florida! I'll let you know what I think!
