Default Sportwerks Turmoil Pro?

My friend is wanting a 1/8th buggy has no spending limit and doesn't want an 8ight and I was just wondering if the Sportwerks was a good buggy since it is still Horizon Hobby and all. Thanks for your input.

It's a very solid buggy with great parts availability cheap on ebay. It's easy to work on and simply doesn't break unless seriously abused. If he's new to racing it'll take at least a year of weekly racing before he's able to "out drive" the vehicle.

Ditto. I have the RTR and it's been great. The Pro will be even better.

I had a mayhem pro with a few turmoil upgrades.. Hella tough car! And not too bad to wrench on, but.... Not terribly competitive around here.... If money is no object I would say buy a Mugen MBX5-R or wait till the new Mugen comes out, either way you are a winner...

Aint that right Mike?

Good, he should go with the 8. That's what I got after my Turmoil.

I was about to say, if he doesn't want an 8ight, then he'll really be disappointed with a Sportwerks. You'd probably kick his butt every time you two race, so maybe you should convince him to buy the crappier car!

I have a mayhem pro and I race 8's all the time and I win so I would not say that the 8 is better. I would go with a mayhem rtr or pro either one and I know he will be happy

I just got one and the clutch shoes and springs appear to be the same as my Losi LST. The motors are of the same bread to it looks.?
I tuned it while my son drove the wheels off. He really liked it. He said hes going to run it in stead of our Jammin.
Its really got all the whistles and bells as our Jammin. From the 5 or 6 minutes I drove it, it really handled well.

Thumbs up

I have been racing for several years and the Turmoil is the car that impresses me the most for the money. A local came in with one and asked if I would drive it to see if it was tuned right. Actually it was amazing! It was not my 8ight but if it were my car it would be track worthy.
Very nice!

Best bang for the buck for sure.
