But a 21BF????? Even the Novarossi rep doesn't recommend this for a truggy. I was thinking about one myself and asked him at the Hobby Trade show and he said it would be fine as a basher but underpowered as a racer. RB C6 is nice in a buggy, last Saturday I was keeping pace to one of the better buggy pilots who uses the C6 with my ST-R. He came over to me to find out which engine I had since my truggy was as fast (maybe a little faster) as his buggy. You should have seen the look on his face when I took off the body and he saw a LRP .28 Spec3.

C6 and a Losi truggy is an awesome combo.

Of course your LRP kept up with his C6. It's a .28! Linearity of power curve, max power, fuel consumption has me picking .21 over .28 esp in a buggy. Truggy is a wash, heavier truggys need a .28 (My 11lbs CEN didn't run too well with a Nova p5X, but screamed with a LRP), while a lighter Mugen/Losi would do well with a torquey .21 like the C6/ Nova 21-5/Radical 621T. I would avoid RTR's as my first one was a RTR and I spent WAY more than if I just got a kit/race roller in the first place.

Why get 23mm hubs? That is probably the most useless way to spend money on a mugen. My vote for radio is React/3PK Fasst/KO Propo and at least 200oz on steering and 80 oz on throttle brake, I would go ace for servos but everybody has their brand and stick with them. For motor I would recomend any Italian motor, if you go for something around $300 I would say Ninja, if you go cheaper something like the RB S5 and Novarossi 21BF are great motors and if you realy want something good get the RB C6

It isn't a comparison, or meant to be one, of a .21 vs. a .28 which is what everybody wants to read into. I just mentioned that this .28 moves a heavier and bigger platform like a truggy and can keep up with a lighter and smaller platform like a buggy. Also it's legal to use a .28 in the truggy class so why not use one rather than straining a .21.
Yes it uses more fuel because it has to move a heavier vehicle just like in the real world, more weight requires more power which requires more fuel. On the plus side I get 10 minutes from 150cc of fuel at a race pace but I pit at eight minutes just to be safe.

Around where I race the best truggies I've seen are the Mugen, Kyosho and Jammin. The Losi truggy is still a bit too new, however, in the buggy class about all you see are Losi's with a few Kyoshos and once in a while a Mugen. I think that's because the Losi truggy is pre-built as a roller and isn't in kit form.
