My set-up fella's

Kev Lewis
OCM Racing Australia

Motor ....Sirio
Clutch.....OCM New Carbon shoes with OCM Black 1mm Springs
Tires ......Bow Ties
Front suspension
Blue OCM springs
450 Mugen oil with 1.5mm 2 hole pistons
toe out 1.0 deg at ride height
camber -1. deg at ride height
shock hole location upper middle, lower outside hole
0.75 in insert on front toe plate = 0.25 Deg Actual toe out on arms
0 deg upper arm insert
1.5 Insert down for Anti Dive
Upper arms all the way rearward all spacers in front of arms
Stock Sway Bar 2.3mm
Rear suspension set-up
0.5 Insert in on rear toe plate
.5 down insert on anti-squat plate
-3 camber
roll center middle inside hole on the tower ,middle hole on upright
Upright position when using alloy, use top hole position
shock hole location upper middle hole lower outside hole
blue OCM springs
450wt Mugen oil
Droop with evo kit all the way out on bumpy tracks.
2.8mm Stock Sway bar

Diffs
4 Front.......6 Centre......2 Rear.

If the car needs more steering, I play with front toe insert, Upper arm position and caster angle, but be carefull that you don't start picking the inside rear wheel up in corners if excesive on board toe is applied as this tends to shorten wheel base as weight is applied to front end during cornering.

THE R???

just to see i weighed my car it came in at 7lbs. 5oz. . i think that is right on the edge of our cluds minium weight. that is right with the 8ight and it may be a little lighter than the RC8, but every car is a little differant with all of the differant engines and radio gear you can put in these things.

I am going to weigh them both as rollers stripped just to see how the base weights compare. Just out of curiosity more than anything. I am looking forward to getting the OCM on the track. I will start with some of the base setups you guys have posted. Our tracks are pretty big and flowing out here with some good size jumps. I ordered the 6mm top plate. Are the aluminum rear uprights needed or do the plastic ones hold up?

Couple more questions:

Are any of the kits going to come with the optional hard milled chassis? What bodies fit the OCM? Sorry for all the questions guys, but I am getting anxious to get the OCM....

Kev, I was looking at your setup a little. Couple questions just out of curiosity...

why do you run 3deg neg camber in rear?

I see you have a .5 insert for anti squat but you are running holes down. What reason?

Thanks!

Default Thanksgiving Thunder race.........

Well guys, it's in the books and we had clost 100 entries and lots of fast guys came in for the action. We had a d or e main in pro buggy and c or d main in pro truggy. Also had some good action in the sportsman buggy class as well.

Rained a little the day before the race. Track was perfect for practice on friday and the guys were rolling in. It was a little cool so we had several fire pots going all around to keep warm! Add that to some good cooking trackside and everyone had a good time. The owners gave a way a lot of nice prizes and really did a swell job of keeping things going smoothly! I think we had about 20+ ocm buggies at the event, some were team guys that came from as far as 14 hours away and the rest were racers that purchased the kit. It was nice meeting everyone!

Well, in pro truggy mark marrow was sitting 4th after qualis in only his first run with the OCM TRUGGY. He looked really good with it. He finished 3 in the amain and had zero problems all weekend with the truck and said it was a pleasure to drive!

We had several guys in the bmain..it looked as if Tyrone Echols of georgia would take the bump with his OCM in the Bmain. Late in the bmain he blew a tire out and dropped out of the spot. The guys looked really good and I was proud. Mark Johnson bumped from the bottom to the b after having motor issues throughout the day. After looking fast in the lower mains he lost a servo horn screw in the warmups of the b.

OCM did manage another TQ for this race by turning a 11 lap run at 5:15 run. The buggy felt great, was a dream to drive and just seemed so stable yet easy to push so hard. This track had a lot of braking bumps and uneven terrain, the OCM proved again it's very capable of holding it's own. Starting on in the top spot I dumped it on the first lap and all the cars went by! After a couple stops we worked up into the lead with Scott Stahl of Georgia close behind! With time almost out and a decent cushion I came in for a splash letting 2nd get close behind me....we held on for the win!

Thanks to my pit guys Mark and Tyrone, all the guys for coming out, www.tbirdhobbies.com, Tilted Fuels(www.bmainhobbies.com), OCM USA(www.ocmamerica.com), KMW Racing, www.tresleonard.com, machineshobbies.com, www.kieferdesigns.com for my paint, Shane Keller for all the tables, and just everyone for participating in this race!

Maxx,

Jconcepts mugen body works as does the cp 2 from proline(mugen)...Both of these fit well. You will have to trim a bit different and the body holes are a little more towards the engine and tank...
