what I'm running is a himoto rxb-1 buggy...currently I have a sh.21 8 port (2008 model with ceramic piston) and a dynamite 053mr pipe...I dont have the pop out of the corners like most guys at the track...I have a 14t bell on it and put aluim shoes....the new shoes helped a bunch...I could run with most of em down the straights but next year the track will be more technical....
so my question is which would you run?....the 7 port the 5?.. is the 2072 pipe that comes in the combo a good pipe for this sorta track?....thinking about dropping one tooth on the bell also....

testing goes. I really wan't to test the 2072 pipe
out on all of my GO engines. I have got to compare
it with my secret weapon pipe that Rob Bender, who
used to work at Nitrohouse, turned me on to. It is
an Ofna/Jammin PCR 2027 pipe with the dbl. bend
header off of an Ofna 053 pipe-set. This pipe kicks
ars on my five port. It pipe pulls all the way down the
long straights so hard the wheels start lifting when the
engine gets into the upper r.p.m.'s.. It's a much better
pipe than a 053, 086, 0801 and others I've tried on the
5port. Interesting thing is the numbers, 2072-2027. I

Dropping a tooth will help but you will sacrifice some on the top of course. The 5 port will pull you harder out of the corner. I am not sure on the pipe situation. I run an 086 on my 5 port and a 2013 on my 7 and they both pull hard.
Hey Neal (Maximo), are you going to pull a fresh one apart
to measure up the crank and port timing? Also, did you receive
any of the 2072 pipe-sets in your order?
I just did a quicky measure with caliper and all timing appears to be the same as Gen 5.5 I modded.... I will do a more accurate measure on the weekend, but so far I see no apparent changes that would affect performance.
I originally tried the 5-port in my buggy and found it to have too much bottom end for the short coarse tracks that i ran on locally. So I purchased the 3-port and it felt right at home. I then tranfered the 5-port over to the truggy and OMG!!!! The first race with it in my 8T made was unreal. I blew away the field and had numerous people after the race hunting me down to find out what was under the hood. The 5-port remained in th truggy up till last year then I transplanted a GO .25 in and it's been there every since. I did however have all three modded and yes it did have an effect on th run time and performance but on a local club scale it's really not required. I plan on running the 3,5 & 7 on a stock basis unless my sponsor gives me the Ok......hint hint.... That's why I'm truly looking forward to these dyno readings. I do believe th new GX line is going to be capable of hanging with most all high end motors out there. Kendall is doing a great job with his and I do believe his are all stock. With all good things out there, there's always room for improvements.
With Kendall's 5 ports I put a small shim under the head of the sleeve to smooth out the bottom a tad and give it more top end. It can be removed to put it back stock again. On some I also drill and epoxy ramp the crank just for fun too.

if your running truggy i would go the 5 port with the 2072 pipe for sure ,will deliver more bottom end and still have plenty of top end , the 7 port will have more top end and smoother bottom end so it depends what you would like, i pretty much just run the 5 ports i like the bottom end power out of corners and still has plenty top end , if you drop to a 13 tooth you will get more bottom end , i have all the motors 3-5-7-and mg66 motors and they are all awsome

The 2027 was the earlier version of the 2047 and have very similar characteristics, also the long header off the 0801 or 2072 pipes will perform similarly to the double bent header and thats pretty much my favorite combo- 2047 with 0801 header on both the 5 and 7 port. but I've got a shinny new 2072 for our Nationals next weekend so that might just change

From what I'm told, the sleeves have revised porting, the head has been lightened, and the carbs have been redesigned. The seals are a lot better now as well...

So your saying that fluting the ports along with opening the exhaust port to the case doesn't make any changes to performance Shed some light on this I'm just curious.
That's why I'm truly looking forward to these dyno readings. I do believe th new GX line is going to be capable of hanging with most all high end motors out there.
