good crisp power and blowing smoke your good to go, dont worry so much about temp. I just tune motors where they run great, make sure they have smoke and really dont worry about the temp, I sometimes will check it just to make sure, But everytime i have tuned it to performance, and had good smoke my temps have been good. When I first went from electric to nitro I was tuning to temp, I was so worried about getting the motor over 230 that it ran crappy. Some days it was wild fast at 220 to 230 other days it was really rich and needed to run 250 or so. thats when I threw the temp gun in the pitbox and said thats it.

Mike, I agree with you 100%. I rarely use the temp gun except when I'm breaking in the engine to be sure it's over 200 degrees.

Tuning for performance is the only way to go. For what it's worth, my V-spec comes off a 5 minute qualifier usually between 230 to 250 degrees. And I use 20% nitro with the P3 plug.

in a truggy you can expect a higher temp with the added load of the heavier truggy and the bigger wheels. my vspec with the os 2060 pipe and a p3 will run head temps 220-260 depending on the day.
tune by sound feel and smoke, thats the best way. but a head temp check is a good way to see if something is going wrong somewhere.

somebody stole my temp gun and I've been tuning by performance ever since. I have to say It's been alot easier and more consistent also. I ran a 1/2 hour b-main at our pro series race last weekend and was getting great performance and no flame outs the whole time.

7 min a buggy tank on new stock Vspec

Tilted green fuel is the stuff, all must try it for way less than $100 a case of 4 gallons plus shipping or pick it up at the tiltyard
