However, is the OS SPEED vspec will last just as long as a C6? The standard vspec doesn't have a long-life rep here at my track. Also have you tried running the C6 with a 86 pipe to soften the bottom? I'm trying to decide between the c6bb7t or the os speed as my next purchase to run either my buggy or truggy.

theres two thing im looking at pretty hard on these two motors. One makes 10 mins on a tank and the othe rhas better life span. But ive always heard the speed had alot more bottome end power then the c6bbt.. but heres what ive found a brand new c6bbt with pipe for 420 new in box. then a spped with 2 tanks through it for 380 minus pipe. so im having a hard time to decide... thanks for helping guys

not sure i would trust a 2 tank motor for almost 400.00. i mean 1) why are you selling it? 2) if you needed money why did you run two tanks of fuel? 3) how were those two tanks of fuel ran? 4) how did you decide that you didn't want the motor after two tanks that should have only idled on the box?

just some questions i would bring up.

ALWAYS buy a new in box engine in you can over a used one! You never know EXACTLY what happened during break-in and running. Also the C6BB7T (with 2045 pipe I presume?) for $420 is a great price. I am halfway through gallon 1 (including break-in) on my C6BB and LOVE it. Yesterday was my first race with it, however I was being very easy on the throttle, and still not up to 100% throttle yet, with a rich mixture, and will not lean it to race spec till gallon 1 is gone. I'm running it in my Losi 8B.

Do you HAVE to use the OS 2060 pipe for the speed? It's pretty expensive (I know the motor costs alot, but I already have 4 other pipes lol) Could I get 95% with another pipe? I have JP1/JP3/Nova 9886 with short&long headers/RB 2045. Any of those ok?

I agree with that 100%. I've never seen 2 people break in an engine the same 2 ways. Most everyone does something different.

If you buy a high dollar/ high performance engine, why skimp on the pipe? If you don't want to shell out for the pipe, buy a cheaper engine so that you can buy the right pipe. Just my opinion. The right pipe increases so much more than just the cost

Well this thread just sold another C6 combo as I can get a C6BB7T+2045 combo for less than the price of a speed vspec without the $150 pipe lol.

c6's are very sweet engines just gotta pay attention to the throttle exiting corners and letting it fly when the car is straight...to me that is the hard part with them.

yep the c6 is a beast it feels a lot faster than my lap times show which was interesting. With my speed I was an average of 3 sec faster.

Most likely means you are not using the throttle correctly! To be nice however (hey, im just a "decent" hobbyist driver) you probably are not used to the power deliver and/or might be pulling the throttle/brake at wrong times in the track. Wheel spin is NOT the fastest acceleration. Neither is drifting a corner, unless its so tight that you must "handbrake" it. 'Cause there IS NOT a 3 second difference between the OS Speed and the C6BB.

thanks i believe you made a good choice and i even support the speed heh. just think 400.00 for a used motor is i dunno heh...

on the pipe i have ran a 2050, 2060, and 086. i currently have the 086 on and i feel its about perfect. lost a bit of runtime with it compared to the 2060 but i am still getting around 8:30-9 on a big outdoor track where most can't go 7:30. i think the 086 come onto the top faster than the 2060. i never search for bottom on vspecs. you can pretty much run any pipe and have huge bottom.
