Default Shock Questions

For my nitro rustler, when the top of the shock is screwed off there is a rubber piece that goes on top, is it important that that is there to continue to ride it?

And I found the parts numbers for the suspension, and it doesnt show the inside of the shock, do i need to get a whole new one to replace that one part.

thanks

No, the bladder is a volume compensation device which allows the displacement of oil to happen when the shock shaft travels up into the shock body. That reduces the "spring" effect of compressing the oil forcing the shaft back out or packing it so the shaft won't go in which defeats the purpose of the shock. The rebound is controlled by the oil flowing through the piston.

No because I don't have a parts list for a Traxxas Rustler.
