Getcha a buddy with a steady hand and put this to rest...

Oh, and taking out the head shim 'copper spacer' would be a bad idea, especialy if you're running 30%.

I have the Bushnell gun. It's definetely fun to be able to call out people who have self proclaimed 70 mph cars. On several occasions people at my track have made outrageous top speed claims, then I break out the gun and see their "70 mph cars" only get clocked at 45mph. It pi$$es people off!

You may have measured 100 feet out, but your timing is not accurate. That would be my guess. You just are not consistent enough to start and stop it at the exact right time. If the time you are measuring is only 1.0-1.2 seconds (to cover 100 ft) and you are off by .05 or .1 seconds, that is quite a bit (from 5%-10%).

Thanks,
Casey

Nobody can time a 100 foot speed trap that fast and be accurate without using timing lights or transponder loops.

i have a werks B7PRO its one of the faster if not the fastes .21 engine made and with a 16T cluch bell im out of rpm's at 47mph and cant get over 38 with a 13T bell, so i really doent think 60 could ever happen or 57 maybe 50, but that would really be pushing the envelope of world class BS....

Hey Now, My rtr went 87 mph. While I was timing it upside down and facing backwards. If you cant make yours go faster than 50, you need to learn to tune a motor.

Exactly, I heard of a court case where a top fuel gragster racer fought and won against a speed trap. They were using the Vascar system where the officer starts and stops the system when a car crosses reference lines on the road. I believe, I remember correctly, he proved that .3-.4 of a second was consider perfect reaction time in drag racing. He then showed the difference it would make in doing such a speed measurement and got out of the ticket

Was looking around in this guys profile and I found this...

"Additional Information

Age:
15"

Could this explain the 60 mph lie?

Except that "dipstick" deputy sitting in a speed trap (VASCAR) in your hometown who "under oath" claims he started and stopped his stopwatch with exact precision every time....

Well that explains everything. Still learning Mathematics. Why would you want an 8ight doing 60mph anyways, unless you DO want to drag race. lol.

Found this when I typed in VASCAR to Google:

http://travel.3dresearch.com/prep1.html

If I ever got a ticket via VASCAR, I would fight it, tooth and nail!!
