Default Worth buying a Hyper 8 Pro with 8.5 on the horizon?

Is it worth buying the Hyper 8 Pro with the 8.5 on the way? Looks like I have a chance to get a really good deal on a new one, but not sure if I should get it or not if the 8.5 is on the way.

Big Bores - $120
FR2 Chassis and brace $100 - $120
extra sway bars - $40

I would say wait for the H8.5

I had the H8 and added all of the hopups and still couldn't get it to work for me. it will be cheaper and easier to get an 8.5.

Thanks,
Casey

Is the FR2 chassis something that is needed on US tracks? Reading one site it seemed like they were saying it was mainly for euro tracks?

Also, are the big bore shocks that much better than the current units?

Bumpy track use the fr2, smooth use stock chassis. The bb shocks soak up the rough stuff alot better than the standard h8 shocks, you would kick yourself if you didnt wait for the 8.5.

Thanks for the info. Didn't know all that was worth it.

Reason I ask is I have a chance to get a brand new Hyper 8 Pro, never used, just assembled, that when you consider the price the guy is asking minus everything else included, the hyper 8 pro comes out to about $200.

Curious if that is worth it then.

At that price it would be worth grabbing it for spares for your 8.5

I would say probably the guy is selling cheap cos he's eyeing the 8.5 himself for sure. Simple logic - if the previous model is good they won't have to come up with a newer model so soon.

BTW, I asked this question before & has yet to get any reply on the FR2 chassis. Wonder why it is not available over here except only the F4 or R4 chassis. Has anybody over there tried them ?.

I got my FR2 chassis in the US. It was in May or so. Maybe they aren't available here anymore. Maybe all of their chassis' are going into the production of 8.5's.

Thanks,
Casey

If it is all as he says and you trust the source I would say grab it. Sounds like a fair deal to me.
The standard H8 is still a fantastic car, and the Werks engine is a ripper!!! The only thing I would suggest is getting a Werks 2013 pipe to go with it.

Up to you, The FR2 chassis is the only real thing you would be missing out on IMHO.
