i put thumbtacks throught the tyres on my cheapo 10 1/16th. gave it a huge amount of traction on carpet, could traction roll on grass. (from 6 AA cells and a 240 motor ) only problem is it ground the tranny into dust. but on ice with a car with a slipper clutch should be fun just don't jump it around people...

I have seen pics of people using some sort of wood screws through the tires. Could be an option.

Only thing is if this is racing, I know I wouldn't want to be corner marshalling it.

Many, many years ago I made a set of paddle wheels out of PVC pipe and a set of skis for the front of my old buggy. It worked very well in the snow for me. I would think you could do something similar with PVC pipe and small screws.

try small screws through the wheels after you mount the tires and have them just slightly go through the tire that way its a firm hold on the nail
