yea, if you intend to race at all go with the kit. In the end you'd spend quite a bit changing the RTR to the kit specs. Hell, I just saw that the chassis now cost $90. When I changed mine over it was $48. Man inflation sucks. lol. It adds up really fast too. Enjoy the car, you will not be disappointed.

I have a question about the steering servo. I went to Pegasus on Wednesday and my friend broke his steering servo, I thought this was an isolated incident. I practiced at Revalation this Sunday and I also broke my steering servo. Does anyone know whats the deal with this? One incident may be a fluke but two times in less than a week is questionable. Does anyone have any input to why this happened and any help to solve the problem.
Thanks guys

hey guys,
after this last weekend of racing and review, the truck is definatly a winner for me. The truck comes with 4 aluminum clutch shoes with silver clutch springs right out of the box!! wow what a deal..the original buggys didnt come with 4 shoes.
The stock setup out of the box was fine. The breaks need to be adjusted but thats about it.
Motor had plenty of power only running about 200-210 degrees all night.
all in all the truck is definatly a winner for me.
As for your steering servo problem, you could have your radio tray to tight...you need to loosen it up a bit so your tray has some give to it to acomodate the chassis flex the truck has.

The 590 is a decent servo if it's in the right application. 8th scale racing is not the right place. In my 8ight RTR it survived for about 5 weekends worth of racing, and I had the epa set to not max out the servo throw. The servo probably just burnt up (FRIED). "Fried" is a technical term. lol. It is just a little too much load for the 590 especially when trying to get everything you can out of it. A good servo will be more tolerant of not having the epa set right. Plus they can handle almost anything. "Almost" Mostly you need to make sure you're end point adjustments are set correctly.

it seems like the specktrum 270 servo ifor steering is just a week servo.. I installed a Hitec 645 as a temporary fix, can anyone suggest a sevo for under 75 to do the throttle work. Thanks guys
#26
the 645 will work for steering as well...if there is one thing you shouldnt cheap out on is the servos...another you should check out on is the Futaba...it is around 75 or so and it is a great servo.

What glow plugs do you guys recommend on the RTR engine. I'm currently using Mccoy 59 (i used them on my revo) they work fine but I wanted to know if there's anything better out there. thanks
