R2 -

My 8.5 did not have any OFNA decals in the box (along with missing the little pipe springs for the pipe...). I guess I just assumed it wouldn't have any OFNA stickers. I didn't want to harass OFNA about springs...

By the way guys-n-gals...the 8.5 radio box is ROOOMY! I can fit my AA based receiver pack and jumbo sized Nomadio receiver in there with tons of room to spare. The built in padding is a big plus in my books too!

Can I install 8.5 radio box into my Hyper 8.0 ?

ASW-

I am actually running a pack that is MUCH larger than a stick pack (its assembled in 2-2-1 stack). I would imagine you could stick anything you want in this radio box.

I will be picking up one of these buggies soon, I can't wait i had the original hyper 8 and really liked it, from everything I have seen the 8.5 is much better.

Hi there, congrats on your choice to buy 8.5.

I'm still driving 8.0, but I'm gonna built 5 AA batteries ( 3 & 2 configuration ) and test it whether 5 AA size battery would fit into Hyper 8.0 box.

Currently I'm using 5 AAA, and I'm worried about run time during final ( I'm using two Hitec 5995TG ).

ASW-

I bought my packs from Cheapbatterypacks.com, using a custom config.

The 5 AA config with high capacity 2600 AA's was less than $25.00 shipped to my door.

You have to choose the custom pack option, but it's worth it.

I have been getting these for local guys and they LOVE them!

Noob 1/8 peep here...

I've been going back and forth about which kit to buy. Most guys around here use the 8ight as I would imagine most tracks do. The Hyper 8.5 looks very trick though and IMO has the best looking shell design.

Is this buggy as durable as the 8ight? I want something that will not be breaking very often. This would be occasionally raced and mess with. I've been racing electric TC for 4-5 years so I am familiar with racing just not 1/8 Buggy.

Does it have any known problems like th 8ight and it's burning servos issue?

Agreed... I ran the 8.5 for the first time this weekend and the buggy was superb. A little tweaking on the setup and she will be perfect... No issues what so ever.

I agree, my 8.5 is supurb! The out of the box setup is excellent. All I have messed with so far is the shock pistons, shock oil and diff oil along with springs. I purchased a set of HoBao grey springs and that is it.

Nexus,

I personally know a former electric racer that got into Nitro via the Hyper 8. He did extremely well with it, and was usually winning the club races outright or at least on the podium.

He jumped ship to the Losi prior to the 8.5 being released... Too bad for him! LOL

I've not talked to him in a while, but I'd be curious to know if he's given the 8.5 any consideration...

Anyhow, the 8.5 is a great buggy in all respects. Get one, and see for yourself.

It does everything save for destroying parts and/or eating servos!
