Default Reciever Pack Recomendations??

I just picked up an 1/8th scale to bash around with. I Upgraded the servos from the RTR(duratrax raze) with 2 hitec 645mg and now it just seems the 4 AA alkalines are junk, it wont hold tourqe well now.
Im a electric racer so im looking for a nickel metal reciever pack i can charge with my Pulsar.6v of course and prolly a hump configuration will be easiest to mount.

Thanks ahead of time.

I picked up a nice hump pack for 17 bux.. Its 1100mah. My question is this, after peak charge its sitting at about 7.8-8.1 volts, should i be running a voltage regulator for the 6vs?

If the pack is made of Ni-Mh or Ni-Cd cells, you do not need it, this voltage is with the pack without load, with load will drop quickly and go to lower voltages. If is a Li-Po pack, you need a 7.0 volt regulator since you'll be pumping too much volts to your receiver and the electronics could be harmed.
