what about new chassis braces? I was runnig around with my brother on the 4th and he put up a jump with some plywood, and he jumped it pretty high. It landed on its tires and stopped moving I looked at it and found the rear center shaft was bent almost 90 degrees, nothing else was broken or bent. would chassis flex cause this? will alluminum braces keep it from flexing so much?

yes it will, not sure if the 9.5 braces are the right length, thats where I would start looking though, Ofna website has a active topic on mutilator, and I do know they make a pbs upgrade for it, look into that as well......good luck

www.nitrohouse.com for all your mutie hop ups. i always ran the plastic braces and never had a problem. but if your haveing chassis flex problems then the alum braces is the way to go.

well we had a Mutilator here that had the old suspension and had the oppertunity to install the new coversion kit upgrade, and this thing handles great I was susprized how this thing works and is more consistant through the turns with the Jammin setup being that the Jammin parts consist of knuckle,c-hub,and rear uprights, it still how ever needed to be extended a little more being that I was using the Hyper ST wheels. I used our 30mm ext. (but you can use the standard wheels in the kit without ext. because they are allready have the deep offset0. It's just too bad i don't have a shiny new truck with all the hardcoated stuff on it , mine is blue and HC. I had the chance to run it in a race two weeks ago at Hemet RC and people thought that was a Jammin CRT and said that it look fast around the track esp. deep rutted areas of the track and th woops section(just drove over the woops almost at fullspeed and made great time there) being that it was it's first rebirth race I had some issues that I didn't look over from being on the shelf for so long. Bur I've been testing the truck at SVM track and have rework the truck for the longer runs now.

So if your thinking of changing over this is a plus for this ride,I'm enjoying this truck evertime i go out and run.

Wink Ofna Mutilator

First time posting on this site.... I was reading the post by Dave and R2 regarding the Mutilator which I have been running for over a year now. Out of the box it was very fast but had a lot of problems with the stock front end as I am sure you all know by now. After spending north of $200.00 on front knuckle replacements I did the PBX upgrade from Nitrohouse.com... Major improvement, the front end actually lasted almost a year with heavy beatings at SVM, and other tracks. I put the high end HiTech servo in the front, changed the motor to the Axial .32 with a Vantage Carbon fiber pipe and of course running a Spektrum DSM radio... Added a 15 tooth clutch and my car kicks butt on most cars at the track including buggies. Everyone should check out the new off-road track at SVM or SV Speedway... It is awesome again and finally challenging. Definately not for newbies...

Write back...
