The Werks B3 Pro has crazy power for a cheap 3 port, massive torque. Perfect motor for a shorter track. The OS VG is a good choice to, not quite as much power, but its got an awesome carb and is super easy to tune.

He wants something under $250, so he doesn't want the most powerful engine, he wants something easy to adjust and reliable.

My vote goes for a Nova based mill in 5 port version. Maybe a JP Stock FX21B5t... from what I've seen it is a very powerful and reliable engine, the Plus2 could be more but... is way off the 250US$ he choose.

I am running the Axe Rossi Mamba and have to report that it is an excellent motor. The powerband is nice and fat and with a surprising amount of bottom end. The motor has a very stable idle and crisp response. Some people describe this motor as very v-spec like with better longeivity. Also, some good motors to look at are the Go Team motors. Both the 5 and 7 port versions are available around 200.00 to 210.00 dollars. I have only heard good things about these motors.

+1 on Axe Rossi motor only big draw back is that it very difficult to break in and tune but with time and patients very excellent motor more power then you will ever need
