a single part; It is build like a tank and I say that in a positive way. It takes
me about a whole season to get any car to handle exactly the way I want it
to. "My" 5r's weight is only 3190 grams so it is lighter than the x6 and that IMHO is the x6's biggest advantage.

how did you make the 5R lighter then the 6 ?

I removed all of the 5r's bling such as the aluminium rear hubs and large engine mount. Use a small 740 mah lipo receiver battery (good for 30mins mains), titaniun drive shafts, titanium and aluminum screws, nuts, pivot balls,
light weight stock body and wing. The car was even lighter when it had the
Fioroni milled chassis, but it bent after a month and 1/2 of racing so I put the
stock chassis back on.Other than those items it basiclly stock. I try to run the lighter tires and wheels.

Hey I forgot to mention I got rid of those heavy captured hinge pins and
replaced them with the lighter and reliable x5's e-clip hinge pins. I also replaced the steel brake rotors with the TTR fiber rotors.

I raced last weekend so it's still pretty dirty. I'll clean it up and try to post
some pictures, if I can figure out how to do that. I hope you don't mind the
body it's pretty beaten up. Do you still race your 5r? Or do you have the x6;
If so which one do you like better?

This is sorta a base line. I use this at all tracks lo/high traction, but I race
mostly on medium traction damp loom tracks. I don't race on blue groove.
When the track dries usually during the mains it becomes a low traction track.

I am just going to bash mine for now. What tires do you recommend that will last awhile with a mix of grass/dirt/asphalt?

Proline Badlands...BUT....get different foams for them as The stock one's WILL turn to dust in no time flat....something like a OFNA or Losi, Panther....ANYthing but the stock grey molded foams.

Guys, do you have any tips how to eliminate, at least reduce the understeer on mbx5r? Especially on loose hardpack...my current toe setting is about 1.5-2 degree out. On tight cornering, the car seems hard to turn with power on...she just wanted to go straight...when power off then she corner...but not good for lap times...any tips for tire, diff oil, shock or toe setting perhaps?

Thanks in advance....
