I had the original p5 in my prospec was good motor musta had 10+ gallons on it.

in the mbx5r i am running the p5xs it was running great 11 minute runtimes very responsive was using rb no6 plug and jp3 pipe but then dirt got in the carb like 2 races ago and had to flush it out and i cant get the engine to run right at all since then been trying for ages to get it setup right not getting anywhere,

i have also just purchased a novarossi 21 - 7 plus engine and have just finished break in.

Your driving style and how happy you are with your current buggy should be an indicator of what you should do with the 8ight. If you do well with the MBX5R, then it might be best to get rid of the 8ight. It is such a different driving experience from the Mugen. The Mugen is pretty stable, smooth and forgiving, and rewards you for driving it hard while the 8ight can get out of hand in short order if you push it too hard. If you can drive smooth with great throttle control and know just where the limit is, the 8ight is extremely fast. I ran an 8ight all last season and part of this one and did just ok with it. I switched to a buggy similar to a Mugen and the difference was like night and day. Other's experiences might differ from mine but there is really no right answer to your dilemma until you can accurately determine what your driving style is.

Adz06 I'm running the p5xs in my 5r too. I had a few issues with it at first,
but when I figured out what was the right plug for it and tossed the inline fuel
filter it ran great. I run the nova rossi 9886 pipe with the smooth flow short
manifold a mc8 plug and 20% nitro fuel (for longevity). I bought the motor in
the early spring, I think I put about 3 gallon through it. I run it a little rich
and I get about 10 minutes+ per tank. I'm very impressed with this engine it
makes a lot of power and runs like a clock. I think I will be also getting the 21-7t as my next engine so let me know how it works for you.

Thanks

Default THS manifolds HELP

I bought a THS racing maniold # THS8010 for my MBX5R but the manifold does not fit. Apparently this is for on road cars. Trying to find one now is difficult. Went to THS website and ordered part #THS8015 . Is this the right manifold? Also not sure about THS racing website because I ordered it online a while ago and I've gotten no response. HELP!!!!!

well went for the practice for the grp event today and couldnt get the engine to run properly so one of the english guys who came over for the event offered to help and after good bit of fiddling managed to get it set brillaint said should have no problem getting 10 mins and to come to him if any more problems also give me some setup adive which made my buggy handle alot bettermon our track - nice guy

Have a question for you guys though any tips on how to make the rear less slitish and feel more planted, i think it was down to using a 13t clutch beel mainly as lowend was far to much punch (i usually use 14-15t but didnt have a decent one handy so tryed 13t.

13t should be fine. I actually found going higher meant I overheated the clutch.

Tried the reckward tuning steering balls last weekend. Worked really well, the links can't pop off and there's still a nice amount of thread visible in the nut, despite running 2mm spacers for the bump steer.
