I just got some NIB spare parts I ordered, and I wanted to know how can you tell if the part is from the regular MBX5 or the MBX5R as the parts on the bag don't have the -B designation, but the listing said they were MBX5Rs.

there are still a lot of parts that interchange between the 2 cars. Any 5R parts say MBX5R on the tag.

Thats strange then. I took a look at the differences, and on the front arms I can tell the NIB parts have extra webbing versus the ones on my buggy, but not the MBX5R name on the tag?

The front upper and lower arms are completely different between the original 5 and the 5R. Mugen made several running changes to the original 5 arm, adding material here, removing material there, etc, to get more steering and suspension travel during the life of the MBX5 Prospec, before the 5R came out.

If you want 5R arms, they will say MBX5R on the paper tag that is stapled to the bag. Parts that interchange between the 2 cars will still say MBX5, though. But this is everything but the shocks, towers, front arms (upper and lower), tierods, steering system, and the chassis.

MBX5R arms

Notice the "B" designation

Thanks for info. That sucks I ordered some parts and they are not MBX5R then

How can I find those pics like that you posted? I looked on A-main but didn't see any like that, just the out of bag shots which is why I wasn't sure when I made the purchase.

If you are not running full droop you should be able to use those arms.

Hey guys, i had a huge problem yesterday racing. I couldnt get any forward bite at all.

We had been running in a really dry slick track, and this week it was a good hard pack wet dirt (not mud)

Front shocks 350
Rear Shocks 500 (really seemed to help)(started at 450)
Stock pistons
Gray Springs

5-7-3 front to rear

I also switched from 2 carbon and 1 alum shoes to 3 alum shoes with 1.0 springs.

Nova .21 3 port with JP3

Panther K2's Super Softs stock foam

i ahve eck tek shock towers on it, got it sitting like stock

the CVD's are right under being level

stock toe on the rear 3.25? i think
and a eck tek -1 front hingepin plate (antidive??)

We need more of your setup to figure out what is wrong. It could be tires but hard to say without seeing the rest of the setup.
