Completed my buggy assembly this past week and got to do two practice
sessions with it this weekend. One wet and one dry using Alan Burton's set-
up.

The assembly went well. The drawings were detailed and easy to
understand. I noticed the car has several nice accents from the
factory. A set screw to help hold the antenna, everything fits in the
battery tray, thick aluminum shock towers, aluminum flywheel/lug
wrench and other features. Nice kit.

Performance was good as well. The car was good in the corner's and I
also noticed it jumped stable and forward. It does like to be driven on power. The car has good forward tracktion and suspension seems to be plush. I think the OCM buggy has good potentional, can't wait to race it this weekend.

FyI - I cleaned my buggy tonight and checked all the diffs. No excessive leaking that I saw. A good sign. Shocks seemed to look good as well.

the diff leaks from the diff cup as the tolerance is too much. Newer batch should see this flaw rectified

The shocks on mine are from day 1 and nothing has been replaced except the boots, tough buggers We are waiting for harder springs for testing

Can you compare it to a MBX5R?

well i cannot compare it because i have never owned a mugen. i know the front end is pillow ball and a caster car so that is pretty much like a mugen. but the ocm has esscentric bushings to adjust front toe, kickup, etc. the ocm also has superior aluminum parts to go with it. the shock towers look like they belong on a honda civic

other than that sorry i can't give much more feedback about the comparison. pull the trigger and go! heh

5mm steering arm plate and shock towers, cnc rear hubs and one piece engine mount come standard on an R. just wonder how the suspension is on an ocm.

mugenlife, The suspension on the OCM looks good. The stock kit comes with 1.4 mm pistons and we are drilling them to 1.5 mm. No binding at all and the shocks are very smooth.

yep suspension is very smooth on the car. i have had some very harsh landings off the nice huge triple at my track not one shock blowout or leakage very nice i must say. i have been running 1.5's in the front and 1.4's in the rear with 400/300 oil. seems to be working out very nicely. i am also running 5-5-2 in my diffs. plenty of acceleration and great steering. still working on the setup a bit i have it very very close. i ran at a local track on sunday and the car was hooked up. got a local trophy race this weekend so hopefully can get it completely dialed in this saturday

you should get into the factory track race series or something we can trade cars after or during practice for a tank or so lol. the R is very stable compared to a prospec but the ocm car intrests me (has since its release) i drive both my mugens and on a really rough track i cant drive my prospec anywhere near the same as my R . i like the price of the ocm too will either be this car or an rc8 to replace my prospec.
