Default CEN Matrix TR

Well it looks like the Matrix TR will be hitting the shelves soon and maybe under some trees this morning!!
Who will be racing this bad boy? I know we will when we get it. We are going up to Columbus for their big race and I hope Smolnik will be there with his. He has been doing extremely well with it and had alot of input to design.

I am excited to see how this vehicle stacks up to the other truggies out there, especially the Losi 8ight.

I have the CEN Matrix, and if that is any sign of things, I do know the vehicle will be pretty beefy at least . Looking at Losi's 8ight RTR shock towers, I wonder how well those will hold up, look very thin.

It comes with the CEN LSD style diffs with alum cases, so they are super smooth. Used 80wt gear oil in the front, 5,000 cps in the center, and grease in the rear. Get the alum servo saver arm, CNC knuckles, and the 3T2S rear block and you are good to go.

Is that pics of the RTR version out of the box? If so that is a great body. Are those diffs the same as what the CEN Matrix uses?

I currently have a RTR Matrix, just stripped of all the RTR stuff and I am building it up as a racer. Have upgraded with the Alloy Knuckles. Will probably get Alloy shock towers next.

Cain- Yes they are the same diffs that come in the matrix except the Matirx FRE includes plastic and aluminum diff cases. CEN is working on a kyosho style diff i believe. on my car all ive upgraded were the knuckles, towers and a jconcepts wing(which didnt mount up very easily).

That is the RTR. The FRE comes with red cnc shock towers, cnc susp braces, and cnc diff plate. Yes, the RTR body is the best looking RTR paint job I have ever seen. The decals are even painted on.

Hey Thanks for the information Gene. Do you mean 80 weight gear oil you would put in the rear end of a 9" ford rearend housing? and what type of grease are you talking about? I would really like to see this thread grow so we all can gain some knowledge about an awsome truck that is hitting the racing scene. Are you going to Columbus this year Gene?

No, I am going to the losi Winterchamps.

The grease comes with the kit, and yes - real fullsize gear oil. Or you could spend 20 times as much and use Kyosho LDS oil.
