I have begun my build and so far everything is going together very well. Thanks again for all of the set-up advise. I can't wait to get it running.

We were able to run the TR for the first time yesterday and it was screaming fast. We are running Genes cross pins in the diffs and man the truck is so smooth and stable through the corners. Anybody considering buying a Matrix TR for racing this Summer you will not be dissapointed.

Gene you have a PM!!

I have been studying the set up sheets and the info from the forum and I am still having trouble deciding on what shock oils/pistons to run.

Our track is a hard-packed dry clay/dirt with a slight amount of loose dirt on the surface. It has about a 2oo' straight with many 1-2 foot jumps and a section of 4' triples.

Please help...I am the first one who will be running the Matrix Tr at my track and in the past I have always copied what other drivers have tried.

I was think about starting with this?????
front: 60 wt w/ #1 piston
rear: 60 wt w/ #2 piston

Robert, Robert, Robert Let's take a different approach to this.

You don't know what you're talking about
I don't know what I'm talking about
Let's just leave it at that, because the only thing we both know is that we like the CEN TR truggy If I was another racer reading the posts you and I have made about this, I would be saying, why don't they both just shut up and drop it! So that's what I'm doing, it's done. No more from me.

Back to the TR Are there any good hop-ups to use on the TR, or is it fine without any right out of the box? Are the diff pins the only thing you guys recommend changing right away? Thanks for the info

i have been preparing for the alabama indoor race, i have been running 50 in the front, 40 in the rear. i think im going to try 60 -f, 50-r. i think you can go a little heavier in the shock oils because the c.o.g. is a little higher. thats not bad, it helps move the weight around when cornering. as far as upgrades i would go with the cnc bell crank, cnc knuckles and a 3t2s toe plate for starters. oh yea, and gene's pins for sure.

use cen 30wt in the rear with #2's and Mugen 700 cps in the front with #1's. It works on every track I have run on.

Anyone have a conversion for the cps measurement that mugen uses for their shock oils to what AE and losi use (30wt, 40wt, etc). Or roughly, what is 700cps equal to?

how race worthy is the matrix tr RTR? my buddy seen me running my buggy and sort of wants to get into racing (club level local). if he gets into it (like i think he will he can upgrade it as needed. just being the price that it is with a decent radio included i think is worth his while. any thoughts from people who own this truggy?

The RTR TR Arena imo is the best RTR you can get. But to be race worthy, he will need to get the CNC susp holders. Everything else is good or the same as on the FRE.
