Tree,

Just like to ask how did u fit the CEN CNC F/R braces? they have like a protruded "thing" on the bottom.

A Blessed Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year for 2009 to all...

I used a Dremel cut off wheel to cut that small tab off of the CNC buggy braces. The I used a small fine grit sanding drum to grind them flat.

I hope you and your family have a Blessed Merry Christmas too.

And to all of the Cen owners and RCTech forum members, Merry Christmas to all of you.

Default RCT n00b.

Hey guys, New to Rc-tech and havent made any posts here.
Im running a Brushless Cen matrix Truggy, and 2009 will be my first racing season and I need some help setting up my truck. Its just a bit out of the ordinary

Setup:

Cen Matrix Tr FRE
-Castle Creations Mamba Monster v3
-CC 2200kv motor
-4s 5200mah RC-monster Lipo's
-Ds 1015
-52t Hellfire spur, 13t pinion
-Airtronics M8 w/ spektrum
-Custom 3/16'' 6061 aluminum motor mount *not shown*

Dont mind the unruly wiring and dirt...

I plan on running AKA I-Beams on 1/2'' offset rims, I Like how the truck turns with the 0 offsets but is a bit unstable. Any thoughts?

As you can Imagine the truck is damn near perfectly balanced left to right and front to back, my problem now is that the suspension is too plush, the setup right now is stock green springs, and 50 or 60 weight oil(dont remember).

What would you guys reccomend as far as springs and oil?

Diffs are:
F- 6k
c- 10k
r-grease

Thanks in advanced, Feel free to shoot me an email

You have a nice brushless set-up there.

When I was running the stock Cen shocks, I was using 60wt Losi oil in the front and 50wt Losi in the rear. I am currently using the Hong Nor / Jammin 16mm Big Bore Shocks with 50wt front and 45wt rear with grey springs.

For the diffs I am running 7,000 Kyosho oil front / 20,000 Kyosho oil center / 3,000 Kyosho oil rear. Hope this helps. Good luck

Ill have to try your diff setup , think it would be worth it to keep the stock oil in the shocks and get stiffer springs?

SBB's are pricey these days

Yeah the Jammin big bore shocks can be pricey but I bought a new complete front and rear set minus the springs for $90.00 shipped to my door.

Still pricey,

Any Idea on what springs fit the stock matrix shocks?

Compared to spending $62.99 for each front and rear sets without shipping at Amain, $90.00 doesn't seem too bad.

I have seen people using mugen springs on the stock Cen shocks.

I hear you on the money factor that come with being in this hobby. I had my TR Arena for over 6 months before I was able to get an engine, servos, body, wheels and tires. I just bought whatever I needed when my finances allowed it. Good luck with your TR

lipos do wonders, im getting about 25 minutes of runtime when bashing.. nothing on the power system breaks 140 degrees after a run.
