Thanks!

I ran a MBX5T stock body and it covers the mud gaurds well, the cab part is too tall and hard to temp. The stock cen body is alittle short for the gaurds. I want a MSR CP 2.0, but no luck... So i think im going with a Mugen proline CP. You know of any better?

Default Need Help

I have a Matrix TR FRE and I'm not sure what the set screws that are in the lower a-arms are for. Could you let me know how to set them. Thanks for any input on this.

they help protect your shocks from taking the full impact when the arms reach full droop. Firstly, set them so they are flush with underneath the arms then sit the car on a work stand (or an old wheel will do) so that the arms reach full downward extension (spin the wheels to make sure you've got it sitting high enough). Then wind the set screws so they raise the arms a mm or two. Now when the arms reach full downward extension the set screws will touch the 'ears' on the chassis first before the shocks slap to full extension.

That's what they're for. In other words, to adjust droop. I made the mistake of taking the screws out, and I almost killed my rear shocks. Luckily the little plastic parts that go inside the shock cap to mount on the tower broke first.

SIXPAC – I talked with Justin and he said to the best of his knowledge he used Losi 60 Front Blue Springs & Losi 45 Rear Grey Springs with the stock pistons F/R.

I pulled this off the OFNA forums...

The grays front and rear. Pistons are drilled out. Front uses 3 holes at 1.2mm and 3 holes at 1.3mm. Rear uses 3 holes at 1.2mm, and 3 holes at 1.35mm. 37.5 wt in both front and rear...

I used 40 weight front and rear, might use 50 in the front... might be running thursday @ rev. ill let you know how it works....

ackerman. im running middle hole and noticed you guys are running inside hole motor side. Does that work better? Is that reverse ackerman?

thx

Thanks for the input on the a-arm set screws and I have one more question. I set it up as you described, but I noticed that not all the set screws touch at the same point. Am I only concedrned with it taking some persure off the shocks/arm at full extension or do the arms need to be at identicle downward angles when the set screws set. Thanks for your help.

I set mine to be equal. I may have taken some droop out of the shocks, but they're even and the shocks don't take the shock, hehe.

yeah you want the arms to be kinda even... if they are not resting about the same position at full droop check the length of the shocks from top of the upper shock cap to the bottom of the shock end to make sure they are the same... if you are using the stock shocks have the front around 114mm and the rear around 138mm. If that doesn't fix it then check the turnbuckle lengths too.. i think the standard inside measurment on the stock ones is about 55mm front and 65mm rear.

I wanted to know if you use a little of toe-out on the front tires. Thanks for all the help.
