The blue shields should be facing each other. The bigger bearing, the one closest to the motor should have the blue shield facing the front of the car. The smaller bearing, the one closest to the tank should have the blue shield facing the rear of the car.

oh its not the bigger bearing inside the clutchbell its the small one that goes in the front ,i have the black side facing the fuel tank and the blue side facing inside of the bell. does it make a diffrence

i just have the small special bearing in the front of the clutchbell.i just have a reguar cemetric bearing inside of the bell not the special one

That's right then. I'm not sure on this but I think black shield is heavier duty than the blue shield.

one side has a blue sheid and the other side has a black seal, both sides dont have a blue shied on it just one side

I need some advice, I have got a used 8ight to where the back of the chassis is worn down thin. It's not worn down all the way but I had to cut grooves in the back 2 screws to get them out. I would say it's less than half left. So my question is, until I get a new chassis for it will these work for now?

Also I will ask here to. I can't seem to find a back plate on A-Main that I can use for the losi 427 motor to convert to a bump box. Does anybody know if the make one or where I can locate one at?

shock problems
I'm blowing shocks out almost every time I hit the track. Essentially the shaft and the piston separate inside the shock body and the shaft comes out the bottom.
Are my screws holding the piston to the shaft not holding (I used loctite)?
or
is my sag not set correctly and the shock has too much potential for over extension?
Any tips or others have this problem? Thanks!

are you cleaning the shaft's with alcohol or some type of chemical ? the threads need to be Brand new clean for the loctite to hold....and if this is a re-occurring problem i would let the shocks sit overnight(24hrs) for the loctite to cure.
setting the droop is important but wont lead to the piston problem you are having.

i had the same problem, with my shock piston coming loose ,clean the treads. off real good and put a dab of red locktite, on the screw and let it sit for overnight trust me, it wont get loose . u can still loosen the screw though if you need to change pistons.
