Losi 8ight building and setup

Of course, the new chassis will be offered as an upgrade, however it will be included in the kits (same type of thing that Jammin just did with their SBB shocks). Losi isn't really releasing a "new" kit per say, but the future kits will contain the rolling upgrades already in them, if that makes sense.

how much difference is the chassis going to make, should i expect a big change? or does it have a small effect..

The new chassis really helps to mellow the car out on super rutted and blown out tracks. You should see an improvement on all track surfaces though. It really doesn't do anything bad.

I'm sure its probably in here somewhere, but for the heck of it I'll ask anyway. Has anyone found something better for the stock rubber shock boots? I seem to get holes in them pretty quick and think the if there is a leaky seal in the shock that boot will act like a vacum, pulling out more oil with each stroke. I may have found something that will work until I find a better mouse trap. What I have done is use the stock Jammin orange dust covers that go on the bottom of the shock with the felt inside and work them over the 8ight shock bottom. It is a tight fit and takes some effort to get them seated down as far as they can go. It doesn't seem to bind up the shaft any and have held up so far (about half of last season). I haven't seen the new Jammin shocks, but if that go with something that close to the orange dust boot that had on the smaller shocks, just bigger it could be easier to adapt them to the 8ight shocks.

Make sure there are no sharp edges on the shock end or the spring cup where the boot meets them. I think Losi made a running change on those parts to help that problem.

I already solved the ackerman slop problem.
1)Drill the ackerman holes to 1/4" and then press in sleeve bearings:
From McMaster-Carr: SAE 841 Bronze sleeve bearings p/n 6391K113
2)Then drill those out to 5/32"
3)Next insert new shoulder screws: McMaster-Carr: p/n 93985A524
Put a drop of after run oil on and you're done.
