Losi 8ight building and setup

Cored motor servos like the cheap ones are do stay at hold when the car is in the stock configuration. Get rid of that inline throttle return spring and get one that is much lighter. Traxxas makes a great one. Aslo use the Losi gas truck throttle return spring. When the carb is closed you should have no spring tension on the servo. Cheap servos will burn their boards and motors if they are left under load.
Still, put a good coreless servo in when you get the opportunity.
My 9451 Futaba has ben flawless racing 2 nights a week.

I got my Losi back in Jan. put these on day one. On the throttle servo use the 4th hole(longest) drill it out just like the stock servo horn. Then use the 1st hole(shortest) drill it out just like the stock horn. You will have no servo issues, no sticky carburators. This gives better Geometry for the servo arm at full throttle. I have ran 3 diferent types of engines about 8 gallons of fuel not one servo issue...... I have done this to about 5 different friends cars and they have all been pleased. The morons that did not try it have lost servos and have had carbs stick......I will try to put up some pictures tonight.

Dan Reino- Please post pics as I have never drilled holes in my servo arm.
Those tires on the 8ight-T are off the hook. Gotta go check out JConcepts see what they got for buggy tires. Has anybody tried the ones on that truggy?
