ttr_racer, I see you've got the mounting holes wallowed out real good on that body The nose broke off mine after 1 tank.

I would rather spend my time becoming a better racer and not a better painter. So for me these skins are great. But different people like different things. Also I don't have the artistic talent to design and paint well. So for me it is skins or pay someone else to paint.

Finally!!!!

Quote from the grid

*** Sneak Peek of the King Headz Servo Stiffener the Losi 8ight Buggys. ***
We feel the that this stiffener should reduce some of the flex across the throttle servo.
We have been tweaking on our prototype to workout some of the fit and finish.
These will be machined from 7075 aluminum and should weigh under 9 grams.
We hope to have the production run completed and off to anodize by mid next week.
They should be back in about 1 week and we will start shipping.

Not to try to be a buzz kill but if the radio tray stops flexing around the throttle servo it is going to flex somewhere else.......... I still think the best fix for the mid-flexing/servo problem is an ext. motor mount.... that's if the linkage and grommets have not worked for you.

For some reason I doubt this fix is going to work. I do not think the flex is the problem but rather the linkage binding. Flex does not burn out servo motors!!!!

My thoughts on the servo issues on the Losi 8ight that I posted on the S-grid........

Something else is going on with the Losi. If you notice, the T/B servo on the Mugen is about dead center with the center diff (between the chassis braces). This area sees more flex than any other on the Mugen. The radio tray has one support in front (one screw) & back (two screws) of the steering servo and then the other 4 screws are under the Rx box.

The MBX5 and MBX5T both use a graphite radio tray (not aluminum). I do NOT use rubber grommets on my Airtronics 357/358 servos. I use machined aluminum clamps that wrap around the servo mount tabs. They are dead SOLID. These servos were in my T-Maxx the same way and in my Mugen's. They have about 20 gallons on them. No issues here (knock on wood)!....LOL

Do you all think it's related to that elevated front brake mount on the Losi
servo horn? Depending on how much F/R brake bias you set up on your
brakes, if you use more front brakes, the top post may be twisting on
the servo horn. That is then putting a huge amount of stress on the
servo internals. If I'm right, the guys eating servos may be using more
front brake bias.

I know it goes against wanting the lowest center of gravity, but how
about raising the servo up and reducing the amount of elevation on that
front brake linkage. Look at the servo horn and brake mounts on my old
Mugen MSR above. There is very little "twisting" affect going on here since
the load is almost 50/50 on the horn.

I hope that makes sense....LOL

Here is Steve Walter's picture to show you what I'm talking about with the brake linkages:

Imagine take a pair of nose pliers, grabbing the front of the servo horn and twist up.
