that is true but I think it will hold if I put a dust boot over the pin.

I thought that too at one point......then i was 5 min away from winning a local race to only have my rear end loose all power due to the pin being ejected through the GMK condom NOT the thinner losi version...i now ensure the screw and pin are loctited in place and aren't goin anywhere....only if the pin were carptured like the Xray or similar to how the wheel bearing's capture the pins would that work with no worries.

The front and rear cross pins have a flat spot machined on them for the set screw. The four axle CV crosspins don't have the flat spot. If you use the wrong ones in the center F/R driveshaft the pin will work it's way out--eventually. Learned that the hard way a couple years ago.

on the truggy I have changed the front pinion and the diff case. put it back together and it feels crunchy. is this normal until i run it and they set or is the spacing wrong. I have no shims behind the pinion and two shims on the ring side of the diff. Any help would be great.

did you replace the Ring gear as well ? those are a match set....like a Piston and sleeve....you can shim the notchy feeling out...but be aware that once the gear's mate you will need to re-shim.

you need a very small tick of play between the R+P....i would check the gear in 5-10 tanks and try to add the shim...see what happens.....also make sure you take out the thin shim not the thick for fine tuning.

I know Fioroni makes some aluminum condoms that cover the whole grub screw and pin. I can't seem to find it on their website but I'll get a pic tomorrow for you guys.

I just make sure they are in good condition and replace if they are nicked in any way....Im not a fan of Fioroni for much of anything.

I know, I still use the losi condom on my buggy. I wouldn't use anything other than losi or KingHeadz pieces on my buggy. I just thought you guys would find the part interesting.
