When putting the front drive adaptor on the front diff cover/bulkhead are you mean't to leave a gap between it and the bearing/diff cover or just put the two against each other?

No. The drive adapter has a very small machined lip on the bearing side of the adapter. This should butt up against the bearing in the diff housing. Doing this will hold the diff pinion gear in the correct position for gear mesh.

Sweet, thanks.

Also, what is the best and easiest way to remove the hing pins on the front spindles?

I just read the instruction manual for the 8ight 2.0 and they say to use shims in the diff. Is this also recommended for the 8IGHT?

No, unless you get the 2.0 rear gearbox/bulkhead and bearing insert holders.

I just installed a brand new rear ring an pinion.

When I turn the drive shaft you can hear the gears grinding and they do NOT feel smooth.

Is this something that will smoothen out once I run it for a few minutes?

If not I'll go back to the drawing board, but I've tried everything and all combination (pinion spacer(s) or not) have the same result.

I'm am throwing this loosely but I think a local guys version 1 came in about 7 7 oz. or a bit more.

At the worlds our cars were like 1/4 ounce over minimum ifmar weight. I think that is 7pnds, 2 oz.

Some savings areas are:

Towers front and rear

Smaller turnbuckles and turnbuckle ends

Chassis(I think)

Diff cases, now you no longer have to run the hd cases. This saves a good bit.

No adjustments are possible or needed there.

you can shim the front diff with the 2.0 shims if needed.

Have any of you guys experienced ordering from Qoncepts? I'm interested in the split center diff mount but 2 emails have not received responses and there is no phone number available. The website says that inventory is current and if "In Stock" shows, it'll ship within 2 business days...just checking if anybody has ordered from them recently. Thanks
